Best Easy Whole Food Cheesy Cauliflower Bake Recipe

Equipment

  • 9x13 casserole dish
  • A pan to steam the cauliflower in

Ingredients

  • 2 Heads of fresh cauliflower
  • 2-2 1/2 cup. Sharp cheddar cheese or as much cheese as makes your heart happy, no judgment here!
  • 1 1/2 cup. Your favorite mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup. Your favorite mustard
  • You can add a 1 teaspoon pepper to the entire recipe as a whole but I normally just sprinkle it on top for whoever wants it. It does make this cheesy cauliflower side dish taste SUPER yummy. However, some of my kids just don't prefer the pepper.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375ºF
  • Wash and place both of your cauliflower heads into your preferred steamer large pot on medium heat.
  • You can start with high heat but, I always like to turn it down when it starts coming to a boil.
  • While you are waiting for your steamed tender cauliflower florets, shred your cheddar cheese.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise and mustard in a bowl and set aside.
  • Once your cauliflower is steamed, you will cut it into small pieces.
  • Place all the cauliflower into a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Layer on the mayonnaise and mustard mixture
  • Top with the sharp cheddar cheese. OH, THE CHEESY GOODNESS!
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Serve, and for a little extra flavor add your ground black pepper to desired taste if you haven't already included it in your main recipe.

Notes

If you only want half of the recipe, just use one head of cauliflower and half all the other ingredients and bake it in an 8x8 dish.
