My Story
Hi! I’m Andrea!
Welcome to The Diaries Of A Shepherdess. I have been a wife to an incredible man and a mother since 2009. I am passionate about Shepherding our children through strong relationships, homemaking and organization, cooking whole food, freshly milled flour recipes for my family and inspiring other mothers to do this in their journey as well. I believe that health, home and raising children and teens of character all go hand in hand. I truly believe motherhood helps shape history, for it’s the next generation that is in our care.
My Story
They say often times, what you are passionate about and called to do sits right next to your greatest fear, trauma, or heartbreak. We must choose to live with the mindset that we will learn from pain and share how it grew us. That can be hard for some to hear, but in my life I have found there is no truer statement.
I didn’t come from a super clean organized home as a child, in fact many dark things happened that I don’t care to repeat. That being said, it has shaped the way my home runs, the way I invest in my children and every other aspect of life. It has caused me to really dive into what a beautiful healthy relationship with our children can look like even through the highs and lows of parenting.
I very much value a clean organized home and understand that this can change seasonally, depending on what stage of motherhood we are in. I use my love for routines, rhythm, boundaries, and peace to create and inspire systems that have helped me run our home most effectively, while still having some down time in our day to just be.
For over a decade I have created both whole food recipes and freshly milled whole grain recipes. With 7 children, this gives me lots of opportunities to makes sure all the recipes shared here are kid friendly. Haha!
Raising our children to be kind, have firm boundaries with others and doing so in a Psalm 23 way, is something I have done for years. I love to talk about how to have strong relationships with our teens and how to lovingly guide our children. No, this does not mean that we can or ever will be the perfect mother. Our kids don’t need a perfect parent, they need a mother who knows where to turn and who to rely on when things get sticky… And who is that? The greatest Shepherd of us all.
The heart of the service that I offer, is to teach families how to live their lives by design, to have a plan and a vision in place, unique to their family’s calling. “Where there is no vision the people perish. Proverbs 29:18” I teach families and homemakers, how to set up rhythms and routines, and to think about what kind of traditions they want to have so that they are not living by default, just barely keeping their head above the water. I teach homemakers and families how to thrive and prioritize their homes and family above all else, all while focusing on healthy relationships with their children.
I truly hope The Diaries Of A Shepherdess inspires mothers to realize what a gift they are to the world, especially in their child’s world.

- I was born an hour and a half outside of New York City, and I assume that is where I get my love for the city.
- I love all things classy fashion. Even here on the homestead, I have had to change my city style to a bit more country, but I have been loving the challenge.
- I’m a sucker for all things Italy.
- Coffee is a big part of my life, like, all the coffee…
- I didn’t plan to ever get married, or have children for that matter, and now I can’t imagine life any other way.
- I LOVE a good clean sense of humor, it always means instant friends, I truly believe laughter is one of the most powerful medicines we have.
- Last one, I have 1.2 billion siblings! No, for real, I am number 8 of 13 kids, seven girls, and six boys.
My hope is that every mother and homemaker, truly understands that a mother’s role literally helps shape history. That what we poor into our children now, will affect generations to come. I hope that this little corner of the internet will inspire, encourage and uplift each one who hangs out here.
